Malay
Game
One of my favourites. I must admit you either like them or hate them.
Malay were origionally breed as a cock fighting bird. This is now
outlawed and since then, the numbers have been in decline. A number of
dedicated breeders are still keeping the breed alive.
Their long legs, and vulture like appearance are truly charming. They
may look mean, but truly they are friendly - very friendly and come
running for a treat. They are surprisingly heavy, with roosters being
at least 5kgs. Those looking to create a meat hybrid, will have good
sucess crossing a malay rooster over sussex hens.
The colour of malay is not of huge importance, with type being far more
important.
The malay are kept as my special breed of chook, with none currently
available. Later in the season, i will be looking for a second line of
malay if you are interested in swapping please contact me.
