Roman Geese
Roman geese are an ancient
breed, dating back to the Roman Empire period when the birds supposedly
awoke the sleeping guards hence protecting the city of Rome.
Roman geese are a small to moderate
sized bird. Roman geese have white plumage, with a pinkish orange bill
and legs. Roman geese are a moderate sized breed weighing around
5.5kgs. Romans come in a crested or un crested form, providing interest
and something a little different. I have found that when crossing a
crested gander with coloured geese you will obtain a crested gosling.
Roman geese differ in apperance to the
White chinese geese with their more squat body, courser feathering, and
pinky orange bill. Roman geese are very hardy, a good utility breed,
good for both meat and pet pourposes.
